How We Work

Charter schools that are interested in pursuing healthy meal options outside of their current SFA will meet with CharterChoice staff to assess if their needs can be met through the program. Interested schools are invited to observe breakfast or lunch services at participating schools. If CharterChoice is a good fit, schools are invited to become members of the CharterChoice Collaborative SFA.

Schools then must release a Request for Proposal for food service, in order to procure their food vendor for the school year (subject to renewal). CharterChoice ensures that schools begin and continue to operate their food service programs smoothly through trainings, one on one technical assistance, site visits and frequent communications.
